CREATED & CLAIMED Session 4

Dear Parents,

This weekend we concluded our series Created & Claimed where we talked a lot about our Identity as Children of God. We talked about how we were Made Good in God’s image and likeness and that He has created us for relationship with Him and each other. We talked about how Sin separates us from God, and how Jesus comes to restore that relationship - that essential identity that we are children of God. Over the past four weeks we’ve been writing our own litany of identity prayer. Here is what we’ve challenged each teen to pray:

Litany of Identity:

• Jesus, teach me that I am good. 

• Jesus, teach me that I am created with purpose.

• Jesus, teach me that I have value. 

• Jesus, teach me that I have something to offer.

• Jesus, teach me that my goodness can’t be taken away

• Jesus, teach me that I need you.

• Jesus, teach me to not fear trusting you.

• Jesus, teach me to trust that you want my good.

• Jesus, teach me that I need other people.

• Jesus, teach me that I can be vulnerable.

• Jesus, teach me that I don’t have to be strong enough by myself.

• Jesus, teach me that only you can love me perfectly.

• Jesus, teach me that I can’t earn your love.

• Jesus, teach me I am your child.

Everyone should end their litany with, “Father, what do you say over me?”
