Knights of Columbus Scholarship 2026

Knights of Columbus Scholarship 2026

Presented By the Nova Scotia State Council

The Knights of Columbus empowers Catholic men to live their faith and serve their family, parish, community and country.

Among the many activities in which the Knights are involved is the education of young people. The scholarship program of the Nova Scotia State Council is but one of the tangible examples of the interest and the support of that education.

The primary aim of this education program is to assist promising Catholic youth of good character and of high moral standards who are deserving and in need of financial assistance to continue their studies at the post-secondary level. Studies may be pursued at any legally and State Council approved University, College, or Community College beyond the secondary level in the world.

Who are the Knights of Columbus?

QUALIFICATIONS AND REGULATIONS

  1. Scholarships are open to applicants who are practicing Catholics of good moral character, who are residents of Nova Scotia, who are completing Nova Scotia Grade 12 or attending first year University, College, or Community College beyond the secondary level and who need financial assistance.

  2. Other things being equal, preference will be given to members of the Knights of Columbus in good standing, their sons, their daughters, brothers, sisters, wives and grandchildren. This preference will also extend to applicants so related to deceased members who were in good standing at the time of death.

  3. Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and on high academic standing. The Committee, at its own discretion, may require an examination for any and all applicants.

  4. Scholarships are tenable at any legally recognized and State Council approved University, College, or Community College beyond the secondary level.

  5. Non renewable scholarships are awarded annually valued at $1,000 each to successful applicants undertaking undergraduate studies at a post secondary educational institution.

  6. Scholarship payments are mailed out by the end of January each year. Cheques are made out jointly to the recipients and the University/College.

  7. The NS State Council of the Knights of Columbus reserves the right to abandon or modify the scholarship program in the event of circumstances the nature of which would render the continuance of the program impractical.
