Maintaining a Safe Environment at Metanoia Youth Ministry
Protecting those we serve
Metanoia Youth Ministry is a ministry of Holy Trinity Parish which adheres to the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth's Responsible Ministry and Safe Environment policy. The Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth has implemented a policy and procedures to foster a safe environment for all those who interact with the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth.
We maintain a safe environment by:
Requiring all Staff and Volunteers involved in Youth Ministry to obtain appropriate Background Checks and training prior to serving in Youth Ministry
Maintaining clear and appropriate boundaries with those we serve.
Avoiding physical contact with youth and vulnerable adults.
Always sticking with the group and following the buddy system.
Being attentive to, and disclosing any clear and imminent danger to a child, youth or vulnerable adult. This may include reporting to police, child welfare or other authorities in keeping with the law.
Not capturing or publishing photographs, video or other electronic media of youth (this includes Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other forms of social media) without the expressed written consent of the parent or guardian.
If there is anything that we can do to help make Metanoia Youth Ministry programming safer for your child, please let us know either in person or by contacting us.
