What we do
Metanoia Youth Ministry at Holy Trinity Parish in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, is dedicated to serving teens in Grades 6-12, fostering conversion, and nurturing lifelong relationships with God while building a strong faith community.
-
Sunday High School Youth Night: Weekly gatherings designed specifically for high schoolers, featuring games, small group discussions, and faith-based activities to deepen relationships with God and each other.
-
Monday Night Middle School Youth Group: MYM Middle School Youth Group meets once a month from October to June for a night filled with games, fun, and genuine conversation. Every night is different, but at the heart of it all is a chance to grow in friendship, faith, and confidence in who God created you to be.
-
Retreats and Conferences: Opportunities for teens to step away from daily life and encounter Christ through prayer, worship, and community, including participation in Steubenville Atlantic.
-
Special Events & Service Opportunities: Engaging social, spiritual, and outreach events that help young people grow in faith and leadership.
The term "Metanoia" signifies a profound transformation of mind and heart, reflecting MYM’s mission to inspire such change in the lives of teens.

Parent Strategy Lead
The Parent Strategy Lead is a Volunteer position. At Metanoia Youth Ministry we build our programming with conversion and lifelong relationship with God in mind, while growing together in community. As part of our ministry of accompaniment of teenagers, we know the need of connecting with parents as they are first and foremost the primary educators in the faith.
Beginning in October 2025, Metanoia Youth Ministry is expanding their programming to include Middle School Youth Nights in addition to our existing High School Program. This role will support both programs.

Middle School Youth Ministry Leader
Youth Ministry Leaders serve as the core mentors and facilitators of Metanoia Youth Ministry. They lead small groups, give talks, plan retreats, and foster meaningful relationships with teens to help them grow in faith and community. Leaders actively engage in discussions, guide spiritual formation, and create welcoming spaces where youth feel safe to explore and deepen their relationship with God. They also collaborate with other leaders to plan events, develop teaching materials, and support the overall mission of the ministry.
Leader in Training (LIT)
Leaders in Training (LITs) are young adults or senior high school students who aspire to grow as future Youth Ministry Leaders. They assist with small groups, shadow experienced leaders, and take on leadership responsibilities gradually while learning about youth ministry dynamics. LITs receive mentorship, training, and hands-on experience in facilitating discussions, leading prayer, and supporting events. This role provides a formative leadership journey, allowing participants to develop confidence, communication skills, and a deeper understanding of faith-based ministry.
Co-op positions may be available through the Co-operative Education 10-12 program. Contact alex.stapleton@holytrinityns.ca for more details
Support Team Members
Support Team Members handle the essential behind-the-scenes logistics that keep Metanoia Youth Ministry running smoothly. They assist with administration, tracking expenses, preparing food for Youth Nights, coordinating supplies, and managing communications (emails, social media, or promotions). This role is ideal for those who prefer to serve through organization, hospitality, and operational support rather than direct teaching. By ensuring the practical needs of the ministry are met, Support Team Members allow leaders to focus on building relationships and leading faith formation.
