Prayer

Young people need your prayers! High School is a challenging time for a young person. Based on research from the Pew Research Center, 71% of adults who are former Catholics say that they just drifted away over time. With more Canadians than ever reporting no religious affiliation in the 2021 census, we need to be constantly praying for our young people that they would have radical encounters with God.

This is where you come in!

Join us in praying for youth to ENCOUNTER Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, their hope and healer, their best friend, the one who will never leave them.

Prayer for Evangelization

Father in heaven and Lord of all,

establish your sovereignty in our Youth Ministry program.

Draw young men and women into a relationship with your Son, Jesus,

and direct their ways by the power of your Holy Spirit. Call them to a deeper service and love of your holy Catholic Church.

Guide and protect the ways of your labourers in the harvest, our Youth Ministers.

May these witnesses continue to reach out and transform

—by your power—the lives of teens and young adults in our Parish.

We ask this in your holy Name.

Amen

A Prayer for Youth and Young Adults

Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, to you we turn in humble prayer.Look with favor upon all young people, bearers of hope for the Church and the world.

Jesus Christ, companion of youth and young adults, bless the paths of discovery and discernment, through times of joy and experiences of hardship, with the constant love and support of your Church.

Jesus Christ, alive in the hearts of all your people, grant that we may “journey together, young and old…to nourish our enthusiasm, cause dreams to emerge, awaken prophesies and enable hope to blossom.”

Jesus Christ, Redeemer of all humankind, open our hearts to encounter all young people,to accompany and be in community together, and as one Church, embark upon our holy mission.

Jesus Christ, in the company of the Father and the Holy Spirit, graciously hear our prayer  and be with us forevermore. Amen.

Pope Francis, Christus Vivit, 199
